In 2006 I got Valley Fever which turned into coccidiomycosis meningitis.
After numerous hospitalizations, medications and near death episodes the doctors
put a VP shunt in my brain and it worked!
I had one more episode with the fungus
forming a mass on my cervical spine and nearly paralyzing me, but they
removed most of it and now I can walk and use my arms agian. I have continuous pain
and numbness but am trying to live as grateful and healthy as possible...
This disease caught me totally by surprise. I was in my late 40's starting over in a
new state and it blind sided me. The challenge has been to stay positive and
recieve help from all avenues--doctors, priests, friends, relatives, strangers,
government entities etc, etc.
I could live in the problem, but have to continually remember that isn't
productive. So I'm trying to search out all the ways possible to keep me living
in the solution. What a challenge!
