Music is to the ears what color is to the eyes and what smells are to the
nose. It tickles those little ear hairs (I have alot) like aromas tickle the
little nose hairs.
But music tends to go deeper than that. God I hope so!
A person can embrace a melody and lyrics and make their own
personal anthem. They can sing it repeatedly, taking the message to heart.
Oh. I suppose that is why I love music so much. I listen to
all types. I even listen to lowly country
music...sometimes if I’m in the right mood, if it has uplifting lyrics, a good
bass line, upbeat rhythm, not too sappy steel
guitar and a catchy melody.
That’s not too much to ask for is it?
A connoisseur of music is what I consider myself. Always searching for
another song to hum or whistle.
Some of my favorites: Inkslinger’s Melody (I’ve hummed this tune for years; ask me sometime and I’ll hum it for you)
Rhapsody in Blue, by Gershwin
Harmony, by Elton John
Those are some of my favorites. That’s the whole idea behind starting KNUT radio.
"KNUT? Is that AM or FM?"
Neither, yet. It’s my home station where I can record my favorite
music, do my array of voices, allow the kids to help and have fun. As of
this writing there are 200 cassette tapes full of
"This is KNUT Westminster. KNUT where the quality is out the door before we
go on the air," my DJ John McCrab would say.
