Martha wasn't too sure that she was safe. She always felt safe when Clay her husband drove, but now that he was gone...Murphy her Kerry Blue Terrier took the wheel and showed signs of being quite a good driver!
It was either that or have him knit the sweater that she was working on and that was preposterous--a male learning to knit!
They had places to go and people to visit and all sorts of things to deliver to those people, so this made perfect sense, at least to her.
When other cars passed them on the highway the folks inside them would honk and cheer, Martha wasn't sure if they were fellow Tea Party members or dog lovers. She told Murphy to honk back, but he just rolled the window down and barked.
